I am getting chills…chills…listening to Oprah’s interview of Rainn Wilson, better known as Dwight Schrute on the Office.  To hear Oprah, vanguard of American opinion, the billionaire African American woman with a direct line into living rooms across the country, mention the Baha’i House of Worship in Chicago in reverent tones sent a shiver down my spine.  Do yourself a favor and tune in to this funny, enlightening, and uplifting interview about acting, Chicago, the Baha’i Faith, art as prayer, service to humanity as our highest calling, and the meaning of soul pancake.

My absolute favorite part was hearing Oprah say, “Go Baha’is!!” That just made me giggle and almost start to cry. lol. Yes, I’m a dork.

This was a really excellent interview. He has certainly figured out what to do with his fame – and he’s right that that’s what most kids these days crave because of our media infused culture. It’s amazing to me that so many people I’ve met over the years, like Oprah, have seen the House of Worship, felt drawn to it as a beautiful and magical place, but never stopped to see if they could go in. I’m thinking it would probably be tacky to suspend a sign above it that says, “Welcome All Humans”

It gave me goosebumps, too! And I was told that the BNC server was having trouble after the interview because bahai.org got thousands of hits that day. Ah, the power of Oprah.
