a soft night descends on a day haply spent
each redolent breath being heavenly sent
yet minds will conspire to question the love
mistaking for ravens the snowy white doves

the illusion of distance is seemingly vast
from ocean to sea, between future and past
but let go your worries; relinquish your frets
give up on your wagers, forsake all your bets

remember your smallness, recall well your place
a blue marble rider in limitless space
a warm, sunbathed planet upon which to roll
release your concerns for you’re not in control

Awesome! This is really great….it is important to question the voices we hear.

I’ve never told you of my appreciation of your poetry, which i’ve noticed a few times on this strange site.

Thanks Uncle Billy! I almost deleted your comment since the email was bogus, but thankfully I looked at the name (and saw that your IP was in Virginia). Thanks…I’m glad you appreciate it, even if you don’t know what to make of it. LOL

And come to think of it, perhaps my blog is a bit strange… =)

Strange, yes. But good. I love being a “blue marble rider” and have recently learned to like not being in control. I like the rhythm and the tone of this one. Good to see the poetry flowing again.
